Primary · Grades 1–6Learn to make and support a clear point
PSD I introduces the foundations of public speaking and debate. Students discuss issues that are relevant to their age, decide what they think and learn to explain why. Coaches teach them how to open a speech clearly, support each point with reasons and examples, conclude with purpose and respond thoughtfully to a different view.
Students gain a reliable foundation in structured speaking and become ready for the more demanding debate work in PSD II.
Students in Grades 3–4 who are new to debate or need stronger foundations before moving into competitive formats.

Put speaking skills into a full debate
Students examine global issues from more than one side, practise full debate rounds and learn the basics of World Schools and British Parliamentary formats.
