Secondary · Grades 7–12Build a strong foundation in formal debate
PSD I gives secondary students a disciplined introduction to debate. Classes use current issues in areas such as technology, ethics and public policy to teach argument structure, critical thinking and persuasive delivery. Students learn the vocabulary of formal debate while practising how to evaluate evidence and answer opposing views.
Students become confident with the foundations of formal debate and are prepared for the tournament formats and faster rebuttal work in PSD II.
Students in Grades 7–9 who are new to debate, or students moving from primary who would benefit from stronger secondary-level foundations.

Train consistently in competitive debate formats
Students practise World Schools and British Parliamentary debate while developing faster rebuttal, sharper strategy and stronger teamwork.
