The inaugural national debating championship for Hong Kong primary schools — open to public, private and international schools, and built to be the most accessible competition for young debaters in the city.

The Hong Kong Primary Schools Debating Championship (HKPSDC) 2026 was the inaugural edition of Hong Kong’s first national debating championship for primary students (Years 3-6). Organised by Capstone Debate and held over 24-25 January 2026 at Malvern College Hong Kong, teams of three debated impromptu motions in a Modified World Schools format.
What to expect
Format
Modified WSDC — teams of 3, 4-minute speeches, 30 minutes’ prep, all-impromptu motions.
Eligibility
Primary Year Levels 3–6 from any school type. Composite teams allowed; no experience needed.
Fees
Up to 2 teams per school free; HKD 180/person after, including lunch, prizes, judges, kits & transport.
Awards
Champions, Finalists & Top 10 Best Speakers; Champions prize HKD 2,500. Certificates for all.
Venue
Malvern College Hong Kong, Pak Shek Kok — 24–25 January 2026, 8:30am–6:00pm.
