We are delighted to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our students at the Beijing International Schools Debating Championship (BJISDC) 2025, held from 14–16 November.

Champions and Finalists

Our debaters achieved extraordinary success at the highest levels of the tournament. Cyrus L. (SIS), Jimi F. (CIS), Mollie M. (HKIS), and Kaikai W. (ASJ) claimed the Senior Championship title, with Mollie also being named Overall Best Speaker—a truly outstanding double achievement.

Theodore W. (HKIS) captured the U16 Championship, while Yifu X. (BCIS) reached the Grand Final as a Finalist and earned recognition as the Finals Best Speaker.

Semifinalists and Pre-Semifinalists

Several debaters demonstrated their skills by advancing deep into the elimination rounds. Aiden T. (CIS), Gemma Y. (KGV), Jeffrey S. (WIS), and Samuel K. (CIS) all reached the Senior Semifinals, while Bella L. (CIS), Nathalie N. (HISHK), and Sarah C. (HKIS) earned Pre-Semifinal places. In the U14 division, Luke S. (CIS) advanced to the U14 Semifinals.

Outstanding Speaker Awards

Our students earned numerous individual speaking honours across all divisions. In the Senior category, Cyrus placed 5th, Kaikai 6th, Jimi 7th, Jeffrey 8th, Yifu 9th, and Nathalie 11th. The Junior (U16) division saw Samuel finish 2nd, Aiden 3rd, Gemma 4th, Theodore 12th, Sarah 13th, and Bella 14th. Luke earned 2nd place in both the Elementary (U14) and Novice speaker categories.

We are immensely proud of every debater who represented our community in Beijing. These results are a testament to their hard work, critical thinking, and dedication to the craft of debate.
