(HKIS), advanced to Octofinals, while Alex C. (Tonbridge School, formerly La Salle College) represented England in their Quarterfinal run.
The year prior, at WSDC 2023 in Vietnam, Capstone’s influence was equally notable, with Rachel L. (GSIS), Jenny K. (HKIS), and Nicole W. (STC) leading Hong Kong to Quarterfinals, while Adele C. (EJM) made history as Team France’s first captain.
Mollie Mei, who exemplifies Capstone Debate’s excellence as Hong Kong’s youngest-ever main team member, attributes her success to the academy: “I owe a lot of my progress to Capstone, having access to top debate trainers who were genuinely passionate and skilled was invaluable. Capstone taught me how to break down complex issues and form my own opinions. I recommend it to anyone who is serious about debate.”
This year’s unprecedented representation across multiple national teams, with 15 students selected for WSDC 2025, marks Capstone Debate’s most successful year to date. The academy’s growing influence in international debate circuits demonstrates not just regional dominance but global impact, with their students consistently securing positions on various national teams and achieving remarkable success at the highest levels of competition.
The trajectory of Capstone Debate’s success shows no signs of slowing, with each year bringing greater achievements than the last. From their strong showing in Vietnam 2023, to their impressive performance in Serbia 2024, and now their extraordinary representation in multiple national teams for Panama 2025, Capstone Debate continues to raise the bar in competitive debating excellence.
